The Whirlwind 7" segmented circular diamond blade allows you to choose from two different arbor sizes; 7/8", or with an insert, 5/8". The blade is constructed with high strength steel, a thin rim that's embedded with high grade diamond grit for lasting durability. Since I got this blade, I have used it to make cuts on 4" thick cement patio paver bricks, and retaining wall blocks. The results have been excellent. The blade cuts very well with a clean edge. After lightly scoring the bricks on a first pass, I was able to make subsequent passes at 3/8" to 1/2" depth, leaving a consistent clean line at a fast cut rate speed. My saw remained steady to control, and the saw blade never caused chatter. This Whirlwind 7" segmented blade is well worth its minimal cost at Home Depot, and I suspect it to last a long time, using it either wet or dry.

concrete cutting is dirty
I used the blade as a dry cutting tool to cut a channel across a sidewalk. With a standard skill saw the cut depth is about 3 inches. there are multi segmented blades and solid. I don't know if one is better at removing more material, faster. The blade cuts, but at a much slower pace than through wood. Dry cutting is very dusty. Maybe using a spray bottle of water and having a slurry might be better. I cut about 3 feet long 2 cuts. The blade seemed to cut fine for the 6 feet. Endurance (how long before it is useless?) is not a problem for 6 feet. Not sure of the cost, but 7 inch blade is good for sidewalk and much cheaper than the renting a big cement cutter.

Cuts through hard brick easily
This blade was just what I needed to get just the looks I was after when building a raised flower bed in my front yard. It cut the concrete retaining blocks and bricks with little effort. Like with any masonry blade be sure to wear eye, breathing, and hearing protection when using. The blade has lasted through more cuts than I had hoped for and is still going strong. The only draw back is now my wife wants me to build another in the front and a larger one in the back. Well, it keeps me outside and that is good.

I call this excellent because of the price, super quality blades are very expensive and as a DIYer I don't need Pro Quality just a good blade at a much better price. Cuts concrete backer board and flagstone to replace damaged areas in a pool deck like butter. Used it on a small skill saw for the backer board for a tiled counter and a worm drive for the many feet of flagstone we had to cut.

Extremely good blade.
For the price you can't beat this blade. Use it to score and cut edging blocks. Make sure you do not exceed 8700RPM. As I cut the blocks I have someone spray water on the blade as I cut. We use a two gallon compressed air water sprayer. The blade has cut at least six blocks so far and it cuts extremely good. The segmented blade helps remove debris as you cut. Very happy with this blade.
