I installed two other laminate floors which came out well though it took me forever. (Old and pitiful attention span length.) This one, LifeProof Fresh Oak, was a bear. I couldn't get it to seam properly. At first I thought it was because the subfloor wasn't perfect--I inspected it with an LED light and removed even the tiniest imperfections. Then I thought it was because I didn't have the right tools--I got the dead blow hammer, the hard plastic block that enables you to whack only the top laminate, the pull-together special tool for going into corners, and the spacers for the edges. Disassembled what I'd done and tried again. No dice. Would not stay together. And the little flanges/tongues--whatever you call the parts that are supposed to marry together to keep the planks tight, well let's just say the marriage never worked out and the divorce was immediate. I'm bringing the whole pile back to HD Monday and hope they give me my money back or store credit. I really liked the pattern and color, too. Alas...

It is all built in and is very quiet when you walk on it! I love it! We installed it in our basement right over slab and I am very pleased! We used a utility knife for trimming and it was very easy. It is on the expensive side - especially buying almost 30 boxes in all but it will be an added selling bonus if we do ever sell. We really researched flooring for basements and this one was our top pick!!

Feels really solid when walking on it and looks amazing. Really easy to install. I love the fact that this flooring works for any size room. Some spaces are to big for just regular size carpet / or vinyl. I get my vinyl durability with the sizing that I need. LOVE this flooring. With Bulldogs this has held up well to scratches and mishaps. It has been installed a little over a month and has yet to not amaze me when I walk in the room. I love the fact that it is textured and hides dirt well. Thanks Home Depot for offering us a great choice in flooring.

First in our son's laundry room, then at my office, and now a huge install in our basement (3 rooms, 4 closets, and a hallway). It is so beautiful and durable. A great choice for heavy traffic areas. We ignored the suggestion to score and snap and instead used a miter saw, jigsaw, and occasionally a bandsaw to make the needed cuts. We found that method to far easier and more effective. We used HD's red underlayment sheeting below the planks in the basement but went straight over the bare floor in the other installs. You do need to be very careful handling the edges and must use a deadblow hammer, but the finished product is oh so worth it.

Lies lies liesVery disappointed in the lifeproof luxury vinyl product. First off, "score & snap" is more like score each piece 10-15 and then try and snap. I found that a table saw worked best. Next is the "drop and lock" install system. The vinyl and underlayment that is attached can easily break and separate. When this happens it creates a small gap in the flooring. The best fix for this was simply to grab a new piece and take your time and use extreme patience. If you rush - you will break them. Lastly, the most disappointing thing... they are not scratch proof as advertised. We have been very careful (we haven't even had them installed a week) and the moving in and out of our kitchen table chairs has put deep scratches in the flooring. No, these aren't jagged chairs, just normal kitchen table chairs. I'm not looking forward to seeing how the product holds up overtime because we just installed about 34 cases of it. If I had a time machine I would go back and absolutely NOT buy this product.

We had a flooring company come out and give us a price of $15,000.00. Our home is 1700 square feet. We felt like that was a bit high and maybe we could do this ourselves. We visited the Home Depot in Burlington, NC and we met Betsey in the flooring department. We explained to her our situation and she encouraged us to do it ourselves. My husband and I work together everyday and felt like with her encouragement maybe we could do this. We ordered 94 boxes and went to work on May 5th and finished 4 weeks and 1 day later. It looks amazing. We worked together to measure and score the pieces which were so easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this floor to any one! It looks great in the kitchen as well as the bath. Betsey was so helpful during the entire process. Home Depot was so good to work with with the overages that we had to return. The colors in the floor give it so much character. The clean up is so easy too, just a little dish soap and water and it tries in minutes. Betsey made a believer out of both of us!!!

As is my issue with a lot of products we choose to use but are forced into a corner. This product was made in China. Big deal we have a distributorship in New England. So, you get an office, phone banks and some staff along with a phone system with a bank of menus for customer service. But, where is the manufacturing. Several years ago, China was pushing drywall with less that suitable ingredients. Toys with lead based surfaces. Also, how many vehicles are there on the road with air bags that are less in the quality of technology? How many are no longer with us as a result of big greed and reaping big profits? Now that company is bankrupt further delaying any satisfaction to the customer. I am hoping that the material make up in this flooring is compatible with the average internal atmosphere in homes and the inhabitants are not affected where their health is concerned.

Love this flooring! This floor was very easy to install for my husband and I. He did the cutting while I did the laying. I will say that the scoring and snapping is not a very good method for this flooring. Go buy the $70 blade that can cut soft wood and veneer and it will make your life a lot easier. We used the miter saw and a table saw to do our cuts and also tin snips. The tapping block and the mallet are a great tool to install this flooring as they will not click together without them. if you make a mistake after tapping the plank in place , be very careful on how you remove the planks. We damaged one trying and learned real quick that you lift the long side up a little to un click it and for the side you must slide it towards you. Do not try to lift or un click the side. Wiggle it to slide toward you. When it came to the last piece where you can not use the block or mallet we just used a small pry bar to lock in the planks. This floor all around is just perfect. Very scratch resistant completely waterproof and has the texture of real wood.
