We chose this carpeting for our living room and home office. I'm not familiar with carpet pricing. So I'm not sure if this carpeting is good value for the money compared to other stores. However, we did get the free installation from Home Depot.
Pros:
- Very soft on your feet
- Great color (We bought the Beach Pebble. it looks little lighter than I expected in our space. But, we are happy.)
- The carpeting specifications, such as having a BCF, being solution dyed, and having a good twist count, seem to be a good value compared to the other carpetings available at Home Depot. Also, it is made of polyester, thus easier on the environment.
Cons:
- Tack strip nails stick out at some parts of the edges. I was told that it's a quality indicator for the carpet backing. I guess it's my fault not considering that when making this big purchase.
- This carpeting will show vacuum tracks, footprints and furniture indentations. Many people online says as the carpet gets older, maybe after 6 months, this will reduce significantly. But, I feel like it's a good idea to steer clear of higher pile texture carpeting and opt for a twist or berber depending on your needs.
- The face weight, or the thickness, of the Durst one might feel too low. If our budget allowed, I would have gone for the Durst 2.
