great looking backsplash
Took me a while, but the titles are installed and the final product looks great. Note: It won't be perfect as the pieces are all unique so you might not want to put these in a highly lit room. I wanted to share some tips which worked for me. Use a "L" shaped ruler or something similar to crease the titles so that you can actually cut the pieces to size with a utility knife. The rows are so tight you can't just stick the utility knife inbetween to cut. Lay out the tiles as if they were on the wall to ensure they interlock correctly. Save the little pieces that you have after you cut the tiles as you can use these to fill in holes and gaps. Don't try and cut the tiles more than once if you didn't cut it exactly the first time deal with it and move on or use it for a different row as the pieces on the edge will break and won't cut correctly. Stager the tiles for each row you install (i.e., if you start with a whole piece on the left side, use a half of piece on the next row) so you don't get the zipper effect that others have noted.

I was a little nervous at first because our quartz counter top is light in color and shiny, but the two together look great. Cutting was tricky because it's not like glass that cuts very cleanly, (a hand held chipper work better for very small cuts), But it was well worth the time. Our walls behind the previous backslash were in bad shape. This tile is great for hiding bumps and uneven spots because of the 3D tiles (my description not they'res) because of the rough uneven texture, it hides a multitude of bad wall! Clicked together nicely and I love that you don't have to grout.

Nice look is why I bought - poor material is why I returned!Bought this splitface tile because it looked amazing on the store display, but after buying 30 tiles the trouble with the product became evident. Had plans of using the tile as an accent wall for the master bath. After dry laying about 15 tiles I discovered this product is not intended for a large wall application. Most, if not all, of the mesh tiles were not square or had uneven edges which made hideous seam lines. Spent about 2 hours playing with the arrangement of tiles to eliminate the gaps, but to no avail. Also mentioned by other reviews, the adhesive backing was so heavy the excess accumulated on the edges of each tile which added to an already difficult product. Since this is a tile which is not intended to be grouted it is impossible to hide these imperfections. If this still isn't enough to deter, I called a few of the mortar/thin set manufactures about applying resin-backed stone tiles (especially those where the adhesive completely covers of the mesh backing like the Emperador splitface) each manufacturer indicated a Epoxy Bonding Mortar is the only product that would prevent the tiles from delaminating over time....expensive stuff ($158 per 15lb bucket). Needless to say I returned the tiles.

Great look and not to bad to install with a frew tricksI am just a do-it-yourselfer and have never installed a backsplash before. I have done a few floors though.
The tiles are easy, in my opinion, to work with. A couple of little tricks make it easier. Use a very small v trowel. also, measure out where the joints will fall, both vertical and horizontal. Run a strip of 3/4" wide masking tape on the wall where these joints will fall. Apply your mastic (use as little as possible while still getting a full coverage) and then peel off the tape. This will prevent the mastic from oozing through the joints. the tiles at the joints will still get some mastic to hold them in place, just not to much that it oozes through to clean up.
I am very happy with my finished look. I used them in a bar area in the basement.
Just take your time and enjoy the process and satisfaction of the end result!
