This attractive tile features a stacked arrangement of 5/8 in. x 4 in. strips of limestone and marble on a 12 in. x 12 in. mesh sheet that makes installation a much easier process. This tile is beautiful. We sealed it twice with penetrating sealer before installation and have had zero problems with it on bathroom and shower floors. It's rough surface (not too rough for bare feet) means that no one slips in the shower. It's grippy and safe in a wet room.
HOWEVER, we had a lot of waste with this very expensive tile. All throughout the color matched cases, there was a lot of tile that had yellow, green, brown & beige stains. We understand that it's natural stone, but these stains weren't 'natural color variations' in the stone and were unacceptable. Even though we cut up the tile into 4" x 4" pieces to make a basket weave pattern on the floors, we still had too much waste.
Because we ordered more than we needed, we made the executive and luxurious (remember, it's expensive tile) decision to reject any stained pieces. The last thing that we wanted was to see any of these stains in the white pieces; it looked as if someone sprinkled when he tinkled and no one ever bothered to clean the floor afterward. Blech. Thus the star deduction.
