Mixed Color 12 in. x 12 in. x 10 mm Tumbled Slate Mesh-Mounted Mosaic Tile - Product information
A tumbled finish sweeps across multicolored 2 in. x 2 in. slate brick pieces, meshed together to form a lovely 12 in. x 12 in. mosaic tile for an upscale look. These natural stone tiles from MSI will invigorate any commercial or residential setting and are versatile enough to be used outside or on a fireplace surround. They look especially beautiful as kitchen backsplash or bath wall, and also perform remarkably as a countertop surface or feature wall. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Excellent Accent Tile!
We have this tile inlaid in two places on our center island in our kitchen. Both square foot sections set in a diamond shape and are surrounded by natural beige-colored tile. We used brown grout.
There are so many colors in these tiles, we have many choices for color schemes in our kitchen - from slate to copper to green to red. Lots of fun earth tones! And they add a lot of interest to our kitchen. The brown grout is also an excellent choice not only to break up the monotony of the beige base tiles, but to hide any stains.
The tile is not only versatile, but more importantly they hold up to hot pots and dirt. The tiles are located directly opposite my stove. When I pull pots off of the stove and onto the island they almost always go directly onto these tiles.
I've had them for 2+ years. I highly recommend these tiles.

Great BacksplashMy husband and I installed this over a long weekend. We installed the tile on Friday, sealed the tile on Saturday (apply two applications BEFORE grouting), and grouted on Sunday. We used PolyBlend Natural Gray grout and caulk. If by some miracle you can tile without having to cut the stone, you are lucky. This tile was a pain to cut. It would chip and break off in layers. We wasted almost a full 12 x 12 sheet trying to cut tiles to size (luckily our son was out of the house or he would have learned several four-letter words that came out of my husband's mouth). Overall this turned out better than we had imagined, but will hire someone to install natural stone in the future. The pictures were taken before we caulked at the bottom and before we sealed the grout.

Good valueThese natural stone tiles are nice looking and relatively easy to work with. They work well for accent tiles and are easy to use in four inch or six inch strips, making them very affordable.
The down side is that this type of rock is sedimentary, and I had a few tiles where the pressure from pressing it onto the wall with my fingertips was enough to make the top layer come off. It was easy enough to glue back together and I don't think it's likely to be a long term problem. But it's even worse if you have to cut these down to size. I could not do it without the tiles breaking into layers, but I was able to fix them. This happened on unrelated sections of tile.

Great TilesI bought these for my master bath remodel to go in the toulet/shower room. We love the natural look and the contractor said they were a little difficult to work with as they split when cutting. Even he loved it when done though. There is a highth difference from tile to tile so if you must have an abolutely level floor this isn't the best choice. There are some mica flakes in some tiles so there is a little bit of sparkle that goes great with the granite shower. The shower has silver flecks in it too so it ties it together. I would love to use it in the guest bath when we finish remodeling it as well

As a result the new order was not as good of a match as I had hoped to the originals. There were fewer blacks and more silver tones. The other thing to point out is that each square in the mosaic can vary in thickness significantly. Because they are rough they do work well for a shower floor (pictured) to reduce slipping.

natural stone, varied colors makes a great backsplashI installed this on a kitchen backsplash. Very easy to work with. I didn't have the problem of layers breaking up when I trimmed pieces, as was mentioned in another review. They are natural stone and vary in thickness and smoothness. Some of the 2x2's had had chips-probably from the tumbling to smooth them and some were thicker than the surrounding tiles and created a bump. On a backsplash, it created a textured look that I liked but on a flat surface, it might be a problem.

Awesome Tile!I recently used this as accent tile in a fireplace surround. Loved it in the store & love it on the wall! The color variations are much more subtle than glass mosaics & I like the natural, earthy feel it has. The tiles are not completely uniform - some are thicker, some have chips, etc - so keep that in mind. As long as it's in a spot where that won't matter, I absolutely recommend this tile!
