Easy to install, sturdy, good looking carpet
We purchased these carpet tiles sight unseen based on the appearance on the website and the reviews. We bought about 1 box more than we needed after reading comments from other reviewers. We installed them on a solid cement surface in our basement in a 20x18 room for our workout space. The entire installation took approximately 2 hours. We used heavy duty scissors purchased at Home Depot (not sure what they are called, but they are no kitchen scissor) to cut the tiles to shape on the ends of the room, and it worked perfectly. The tiles are sturdy enough that I only needed to spot weld them down in a few random spots throughout the room and near doorways with some spray adhesive. They look amazing and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Would have been the best if I had been able to purchase them on sale, but we paid full price and they are well worth it. We have lots of left over tiles so we even added on an extension in the storage room. I didn't have to waste hardly any of it using the scissors...just a few little strips here and there.

So Much Better Than Expected
I am very surprised by how much I like these Carpet Tile. Needing something tough and practical for a mountain house, I chose these tiles to withstand the ski boots and dogs that are always part of living in ski country. But what surprises me is that the carpet tile is quite attractive and warm feeling on bare feet as well. The installation was easy and I have already wiped up a couple of "accidents" which left no stains at all.
We laid the tile in a brick pattern which feels less busy to me and also has the advantage of not having 4 corners meeting at one point. We had enough extra tile that we could avoid using most of the tiles that had a very dark edge. This dark edge on some of the squares is the only thing I did not like.

Excellent Quality, Read this Before Purchasing & Installing
Overall:
This is the first online review I have ever left for a product purchased online. Let me start by saying that these tiles are very nice. I have a 3 story townhouse in Houston with our office taking up the entire bottom floor. The hardwood floors downstairs made the main conference room too hollow sounding for conference calls, which is why I decided to install the carpet tiles. The tiles did the trick and definitely help to absorb a majority of the sound, no more echoes or reverbs. Overall I am happy with the look, the quality, and how the room turned out with the tiles installed.
What You Need to Know:
Here are a few pointers to help you when deciding on purchasing these tiles (or another color or design by the same manufacturer, Eurotile). One important thing to remember: when you order the tiles you must take into account that you will be cutting several of them to fit, and I guarantee you that you will cut about 5 of them the wrong way. This is frustrating but it is what it is. It is important to take this into account now so that you order enough tiles. I originally ordered 4 boxes, which I thought should have been enough to do the room and have a few left over. This was far from how it ended up. I did not take into account the cuts involved, or the learning curve. I was unable to finish the job in one Saturday because of this; I had to order 2 additional boxes to get it done, and even with 2 more I ended up with only 4 extra tiles. Remember this when making your order, you will be glad you read this review!
COLOR: The tiles have a blue tint to them, not just silver. If you are looking for a darker silver or color in general I suggest going darker than the color you see online, perhaps for the silver here you should go with a charcoal. The Park Avenue Steel tiles look great, but they definitely have more of your standard office blue color to them. This is not necessarily a bad thing, the pattern in the tiles and with the silver//gray accents make up for this. Does this color look good? Absolutely, I would not go darker than this.
INSTALL: Refer to the beginning above and remember to order more tiles than what will actually cover the square footage of the room. As guidance, I thought I needed four but actually ended up needing 6, and was left with 4 extra tiles at the end. These tiles do NOT have self adhesive on the back like many of the other ones Home Depot sells online. The tiles are commercial quality and require more work for installation. This is a good thing if you want a quality tile that you don't have to worry about coming up within a year or one that is susceptible to changes in humidity or a foundation sweating. I did the entire installation myself, the room is approximately 16X14 with a built in unit bookshelf protruding on one end. Measure from the center of the room and go in quadrants from there, cut the tiles first and make sure you keep them in order (i.e. stack them up from the end of the wall to the end of the quadrant). I found videos on YouTube that show various ways to do this, the videos should help you out, just search "carpet tile install". I installed the tiles over the existing hardwood floors. We plan to use this house as an office for the next two years. I prefer darker hardwood floors so I had no problem installing directly over them. If you take the tiles up down the road you will have to strip and refinish the wood floors. There is a covering you can buy to cover up the wood and install directly on top of it; however best to install on top of original surface (i.e. wood or concrete) if you can. There is an adhesive you will spread on top of the floor (not included). The instructions recommend using Eurotile's brand of adhesive, however it is hard to find and you do not need to use their adhesive, any brand should suffice. I ended up using Henry brand # 356 carpet adhesive, it comes in a 4 gallon bucket, however they do make smaller sizes. I used 1 and a half 4 gallon buckets of the adhesive. This is the worst part, the stuff is sticky and spreading it around is time consuming and a bit of a workout to say the least (I am in shape and 28 years old). I suggest having someone help with this part, it will save you a ton of time and mitigate your frustrations. Let the adhesive dry for about 30 minutes, and start laying the tiles from the center line going to the wall, the same way you measured to cut them. Make sure not to apply the adhesive too thick or it will come up through the cracks on the tiles, the only way to get it off the tile is to let it dry and then use GooGone or Oops to get it off. I also suggest buying a hand carpet roller and a flat edge to push tight cuts against the wall for a clean finish. Use the hand roller as you install each tile, push hard on the edges of the tiles as you add each one, you will see as your doing this it helps with install and makes the tiles stick as close together as possible. After you do this 4 times over your room will look great. I suggest not doing the quarter turn pattern rotation, keep all of the tiles going in the same direction, there are arrows on the bottom of the tiles to help with this. Make sure when cutting you take this into account or you will have an oddball tile stick out due to improper rotation; this is where having a few extra tiles come in handy.
CARE: Keep in mind that if you have a Dyson vacuum they are known to pull up some carpet tiles; we have a Dyson Animal and these tiles are able to take the suction power of the Dyson with no problem at all.
Overall these tiles are great. If you don't mind a more involved installation I highly recommend them. You will need to budget a minimum of 6 hours to get the job done right. The tiles ship ground from Washington state, there is a 3 day order processing time, the tiles come direct from the manufacturer. If you order them on a Wednesday you should have them in time to do the install the following weekend.
I hope this review is helpful, best of luck to those who end up buying this brand and type of tile, I don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase.

Great Product
Looks very nice once installed. I put them all in one direction and it makes for a very nice pattern. However, the picture on the computer is much more greyish looking but in real time they are more dark brown. But still really nice color. Will be easy to keep clean. I just ordered two more boxes to finish out the project and to have a couple or so left over in case of a castrophy.

Easy to apply and cuts quite easily around corners and poles.
Very sharp looking. There were two spots, where the black edge butted up to the next carpet and made it appear that their was a mistake in the lay out, but it seems to be part of the process. The customer did not want me to alternated the carpet, but wanted a straight run, which I believe gives this black edge mislay look.

New carpet for man cave
The carpet tiles were an excellent way to go for this basement project. The tile were extremely easy to work with and using the 1/4 turn layout gave a professional look to the finished product. When making the decision on what to use we narrowed it down to two styles, ordered a single case of each and dry laid samples from both to see which looked the best. This made the decision much easier, and there was no problem returning the case we decided not to use. Would definitely consider using this product again of the need would arise.

Easy installation, and looks good.
These carpet tiles were so easy to install, and they look good. They have a little bit of a pad built in, and look and feel like a commercial type carpet once down. I'm not sure how they wear because I've only had them down for a couple weeks. The color Park Avenue Steel has a lot of blue in it. That was ok with me, but just to make you aware, so you know what you're getting.

These carpet tiles are great!
Tough as steel in the basement. If your not a floor guy you have to realize that your on your knee's and its work. Totally worth it. 400 sq ft done and sweet. Just be careful with the glue. It's glue and can be messy. It does clean up with a wet rag.
