drawbacks
I got this product because of the appeal of having an interlocking floating floor that did not require much prep of the flooring underneath. I live in a 108 year old house, that shifts, has dips in the floor and also had cracked and gapping asbestos tile that was hidden by carpeting. The vinyl wood grain is awesome. The tiles are heavy and the rubber underneath is hard and dense. This would be perfect for a basement. It is not easy to manage in a room that is not square and requires a lot of work to do the edges. However, laying down the center of the room with whole tiles is very easy. One problem is that the tiles can only interlock in a specific way. You have to have the interlocking edges facing the same way for each tile. So, to tile a small, odd corner in the room, I had to waste material. You cannot readily use the scraps. Unless you have a room in which the edges will be nine inches or less all the way around, you waste tiles. After having the tiles down a few days, the teeth at the edges began to show through. They do not interlock in a tongue and groove fashion. They overlap each other at the edges with one strip of triangular teeth above snapping onto a strip below. Although the vinyl is very thick and it is hard to imagine any bump showing through, the edges of many of my tiles have faint triangle patterns all around the edges now that a week has passed. If it were not for that, I would recommend this product wholeheartedly. As I have seen others mention, in some cases the corners do not go down flat... but that is readily addressed with a flooring hammer. At this point, having done all the work to lay down this flooring, I do not intend to haul it back up and return it. But, I would have selected another product had I known the outcome.

great stuff - easy to install - trick to cut
Just put this down in a bathroom redo = great floor
Tough to cut = use a new blade in utility knive and, with great care, cut the cork top thru as you marked; then cut carefully thru the backing rubber.

Great for a Basement
Installation was trouble free. The product was as good as advertised. Perfect for my home office in the basement. I covered some old nasty sheet vinyl that otherwise would have been a lot of work to remove.

great for wet basement.
they were for a rental where for lots of reasons we wanted a product we could take up and would also hold up well to your average college student. they laid flat at my house basement but has some issues at the rental with edges not joining flat. I dont reccommend the bamboo for this reason as this is very obvious in places that the joint is not flat. don't imagine that would be the case for the solids. I only got the bamboo because we wanted something light. I want to like the product but they have to work on the joints or maybe it is quality control. I called the company and they said you could use a floor roller on it. got to try that. Anyway, along with the razor knife use a jigsaw for install, it works great.

Need to take into account the wood grain design and direction of the tiles during installation.
The tiles were fairly easy to install using a dead blow hammer and carpenter's square. They seem to scratch easily but not too hard on the feet. Matched the wood grain of the tiles during installation to make the room more aesthetically appealing. No need to make this effort on the stone designs. A couple of tiles had nicks but placed them in the back.
