Good carpet for the money
I purchased sight unseen as this was an internet-only order so, I was a little apprehensive. I used this carpet for the basement (man cave) so I didn't need $4-6 sq/ft carpeting with padding. Although our basement is dry, I still want to have an easy pick up/replace type carpet option. I am impressed with this product. It is VERY easy to install and stick down. I ordered two different colors to do a checkerboard pattern (black and dark gray) and it looks spectacular. My fear was the pieces wouldn't fit squarely but I found no issues at all. I put down a total of nearly 700 square feet including many corners and doorways. This carpet is easy to cut to size/shapes with a scissors. If you want thick, plush carpet, this isn't it (nor will you find it at $1 sq/ft); if you want something that looks great in a basement (over concrete or laminate), this is the stuff. I'd highly recommend it for the price point and for the ease of install.

Surprisingly good when installed.
I knew from the other reviews that these were going to be thin, but I had no idea how thin! I was skeptical when I opened the box (they feel like colored packaging material), but figured I'd install them since they were inexpensive. I was surprised how well they looked when I was done. Yes, they are thin, but that made them really easy to work (particularly if you have to cut in around obstructions). The adhesive worked well over our old vinyl tiles and they didn't lift during vacuuming. Personally, I wouldn't put them in a main living area, but think they are great for a basement, laundry or utility room. I have purchased much more expensive carpet tiles and these certainly don't compare, but they are also a fraction of the cost. Depending on where you want to use them, I'd certainly recommend them for the price. Just don't expect "luxury."

Great low-cost, attractive floor covering
As others have said here, they are on the thin side. But not tissue-paper thin or anything. Just like unpadded piece of thin commercial-style berber carpet with glue on the back.
The glue isn't gooey or super-sticky, but was just fine for laying on bare plywood in a closet, and plenty strong once the tile was pressed down with a rolling pin. Installation was easy, had no problem pulling the backing off. Size did vary from box to box and isn't a precision-accurate 18" but variation was minor - like 1/16th inch - and easily dealt with my trimming the edge from a tile or two. Cuts easily with a good pair of scissors, or use a box cutter and straightedge if you want precision.
The finished job was fast & easy and looks really nice. Perfect for a low-usage area like a closet or a guest room. Wouldn't necessarily use it in a living room or other high-visibility, high-traffic area. I suspect it wouldn't hold up well, and you definitely CANNOT disguise the fact it's carpet tile... the seams are most definitely visible, even with a pretty careful install.

Survived Hurricane Irene!
Last weekend Hurricane Irene arrived (east coast, north of NYC area) and I had 30" of standing water in the basement due to a backed up creek that my sump pump goes to, and the fact that my backup pump that goes out the window could not keep up with the tremendous amount of rain that Irene brought, that just kept coming in from the creek. The basement was pumped after about 12 hours and I wet-vacced the carpet tiles twice. They didn't come off of the floor from the suction of the vaccuum cleaner, and now that they are dry they are stuck as good as when I put them down! The humidity is down to 70% and lowering and I am hoping that they won't curl up as they dry further.
I am impressed! I did spray some mold preventer on them and will keep an eye on them and attempt to keep up with the mold situation (if any). I am sure the underside will have mold (how could they not?) but for the most part I am extremely happy with them and the fact that they work in a situation like this.

Perfect Solution
We used these carpet tiles in our lower level walk-out. After a rather devastating flooding situation last Spring, we were forced to rip up the California Berber and padding over concrete we had down there. What a ghastly and filthy job..we replaced drywall, installed new wainscotting, etc..BUT..what to do with an uneven, cold, carpet-nail damaged floor? That is 700 sq ft? That would withstand moisture? On a tight budget? We went back and forth, epoxy? Linoleum tiles? Finally, we pulled the trigger on these carpet tiles..oh, so glad we did. We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of installation, we turned each tile opposite of each other, and got a subtle checkerboard pattern. Each tile is marked with a directional arrow, so super easy. And no problem adhering to the previously painted concrete. (Prep was the hardest part, we loosened all peeling paint, vacumned, mopped, repeat). Done in a day and a half. Also suprised by the softness on bare feet..all in all, a quick, effective, inexpensive solution. Very happy.

Better than nothing
The color of the carpet tiles is just what we expected, and the price was right and the installation was pretty easy, but don't fool yourself into thinking it will have the look and feel of "real" carpet. This product would be great in a basement or maybe a utility room, but we used it in our home office as a cheap alternative to other floor coverings until we could decide what we really wanted. But it's incredibly thin, and after just 2 weeks the casters of the office chair have made big fuzzy marks in it. It's not durable for this kind of use. We ripped out the old carpet and padding and stuck these tiles directly to the subfloor so now there's zero padding and it feels like we're walking on concrete and the room has an echo. We'd only buy this product again for use in our basement. Please consider what kind of use and traffic your room gets before you purchase these carpet tiles.

You get what you pay for
It was a nightmare to install. It took several hours to install due to tiles not fitting properly; leaving gaps that show the floor underneath. Tiles are not evenly sized within each carton and from carton to carton. I tried to install according to directions but due to the gaps I had to pull it all back up and had better luck installing from one wall to the other and was able to install without large gaps. I do have to say they stick well even when you pull them up several times. I did not expect them to be as thin as they are and if you hold them up to the light you can see the light through the carpet tile. I gave it 2 stars because it does look good once you finally get it installed and they stick well, otherwise it would only have gotten one star. It would help if Home Depot had sample books of all carpet tiles in the store. They have only a few pages from one company but nothing in dark brown. If I had seen this in the store I would not have gotten it. Very disappointed.

Overall nice product for our laundry room where we didn't want to lay padding and carpet. I thoug...
Overall nice product for our laundry room where we didn't want to lay padding and carpet.
I thought the tiles would be a bit thicker but they lay down quite nice on our basement cement once cleaned.
Pretty much transformed our laundry room at a price that didn't break the bank.
