Gorgeous period tile!
I purchased this tile for my master bath addition on my 1860's home. Gorgeous tile and very authentic for an older home like mine. Good quality tile.
Had it professionally installed and took the tile guy much longer than anticipated. Was hard work to get the sheets lined up perfectly on every side: some sheets had to be laid a millimeter or two away from others to get the best fit all around and this isn't that noticeable with a light grout but would be with a dark grout. I think with a darker grout (which seems to be in vogue these days) you'd notice a difference in the sheet gaps because there'd be a thicker gap line in some areas which I think would look bad. I don't think a newbie could install this and have it look as good- it's a job for the more experienced tiler.
I also purchased the Greek Key border and it's GORGEOUS with this tile.
(Note: the white hex areas outside the border and in the shower are the same snowflake tile-- the tile guy and I cut out each snowflake and he had to replace the missing tiles with white hex tiles from another sheet. This was obviously a TON of work and added time and labor cost and wasted materials but I had no choice as the all white hex sheets (same co) are a different white!)
HD has the best price on this style of tile online and in local reproduction tile shops. One online reproduction tile company wanted more than $30 a sf for a near identical tile!
