M. S. International Desert Trail 16 in. x 16 in. Gauged Field Tile is a Natural Stone Slate with an amalgamation of warm khaki and earth tones. With a large selection of sizes and accessories to choose from, this tile can easily be laid in a pattern or single layout and is suitable for residential and commercial installations, including kitchens and bathrooms. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Color is very light
I haven't installed the tile yet, but it is very light in color. When I think of slate, I think of gray. This tile is pretty, but think of beige sand when ordering. There are multiple colors in the tile... even some grays, but the primary color is tan... Perfect if you want the look of slate but don't want your room to dark

There is really nothing wrong with the product. It is just what the description says. The problem...There is really nothing wrong with the product. It is just what the description says.
The problem lies in the fact that this has to be ordered to the store or another address. When packing these tiles, the distributor doesn't put any protective sheets between the tiles. We had two different shipments arrive to the store where all the tiles were either completely broken or scratched. Both shipments were returned and I finally went to a different supplier and found similar tile in stock.

The tile itself was great but there were so many...The tile itself was great but there were so many broken pieces that I had to place two orders, each ordering double, so I would have enough tile to finish my project. Luckily, HomeDepot said they would take the broken pieces back. Make sure you order more than you need and you will be fine.
