Sub floor was in wonderful shape, went on easily except for the angles caused by walls that surround the water heater compartment. Tiles were easy to cut. We also used carpet and tile adhesive for a better longer hold. One tile slipped when I was putting fridge back, thought adhesive was dry. Oops. So a rug is in front of fridge until I can vinyl tile grout it and where tiles were not cut to meet cabinets and walls. Over andll these tiles really open up the space in the kitchen. Was 1970s fire engine red carpet where the table is and black and white checker board tiles in the kitchen. The bathroom had had the tiles painted what my husband called battleship gray, but previous owner did not polyurethane over the psint, so it was chipping and peeling.
LOVE THE RESULTS. Brings the retro look more in line with today...now to update the curvy counters.

Mismatched textureThe Armstrong Trafficmaster tile was a disappointment. Within the same lot/batch number I found textured and non-textured. I discovered this while installing the tiles. I called several HD stores and made a number of trips to local stores - they were either out of the tile or the tile they had was non-textured. Thru HD I got the phone number for Armstrong and called their rep. She told me the correct tile was the textured one (2/3's of my floor) and told me to go back to HD and have them order replacement tile. I could only get a credit on the unused tile so I ended up owning the defective used tile. I ordered replacement tile and received it a week later. Armstrong offered no explanation how this could have happened and last I looked - the non-textured is still in the store.

Color and slip resistanceIt's not "Red" at all, looks like fake brown suede. Has shiny "bumps' which make it look very cheap when the light hits it. Very slippery, exactly what I was trying to avoid.
Love Trafficmaster but this a dud.
